Houston and Patrick built successful careers as oil & gas entrepreneurs and operators, most recently serving as CFO and VP of Strategy and Finance at Black Mountain. In early 2020, however, they decided they wanted to invest in or start local businesses outside of the energy industry. They were quickly drawn to waste because of the local demand for customer-oriented waste related services and the resiliency of the industry. After evaluating multiple waste opportunities and studying the business for seven months they were introduced to industry veteran, Wayne Wooten. Wayne had managed a large Fort Worth independent waste business for 18 years. There he had grown from two roll-off trucks to a fleet of over 20 trucks and 600 roll-off containers. He also started its front load business in 2016 and quickly grew to 5 trucks and over 1,200 containers. With Wayne onboard, the Reliable team had a great combination of entrepreneurial, capital raising, operating and waste industry experience.
